found family vintage

Found Family Vintage is a California-based furniture rescue and community restoration project devoted to helping our community find home again — providing dignified home essentials at zero cost to families navigating emergency relocation, with a strong focus on domestic violence.

what we do

sustainable sourcing

We actively source quality furniture and household goods from our community.

That means reaching out to estate sales, neighbors, local businesses, and families who want their items to go somewhere meaningful. We’re intentional about what we accept — sturdy, usable pieces that we would feel good placing in someone’s home.

we carefully steward items with care and redirect them with purpose.

dignified distribution

When a family is navigating emergency relocation we help furnish their new space at zero cost to them.

We inventory, store, and match items intentionally so that when a placement happens, it feels seamless and dignified.

If an item isn’t immediately placed, it’s resold. Those profits fund groceries, cleaning supplies, moving costs, and other home necessities.

community care

We are building intentional community around emergency relocation and domestic violence recovery — including support spaces, resource referrals, and partnerships with organizations doing aligned work.

Whether that’s connecting families to local services, hosting small support gatherings, or sharing practical rebuilding resources — we believe restoration is emotional, social, and practical.

are you a nonprofit?

Not yet. Found Family Vintage is a mission-driven community restoration project led by me, Taimani. We operate through resale, community donations, and partnerships. Every dollar and every item is stewarded with intention and transparency.

who do you serve?

We support families navigating emergency relocation, with a strong focus on domestic violence survivors. Our goal is to help people rebuild home with dignity — at zero cost to them.

how do families receive support?

Families can request support directly through our intake form, and we also receive referrals through community partners and local organizations.

Every request is reviewed thoughtfully to ensure we can steward resources well and respond with care.

do families ever pay for items?

Absolutely not. Literally never. I would rather die than charge our families for an essential need during a traumatic and destabilizing time in their lives.

The only thing we are sometimes required to cover right now is the transportation of items—and even then, we keep those costs at the absolute minimum possible. That support goes directly toward gas, vehicle use, and making sure we can actually get these items into homes.

Our families are never paying for the items themselves—only the logistics of getting them there when we don’t have another way to cover it yet 🤎

do you resell donated items?

Items that are not placed into homes are selectively chosen for resale, often as curated vintage or antique pieces. We focus on higher-value items so we can generate the greatest possible return to support our mission.

Those profits fund groceries, cleaning supplies, moving costs, storage, and other living essentials, ensuring families receive support at no cost to them.

what kinds of items do you accept?

We accept quality furniture, kids items, and household essentials in good condition — dressers, tables, bed frames, couches, kitchenware, linens, lamps, organizers, cleaning supplies, and toiletries.

If you’d feel good giving it to someone you love, we’ll likely take it.

We cannot accept broken, heavily stained, unsafe, or pest-damaged items.

do you offer pickup?

Yes, we do 🤎

We offer pickups throughout the Bay Area and Sacramento, depending on location and availability.

For smaller, easy-to-transport items (like boxes of household goods, kitchenware, décor, etc.), we’re often able to coordinate free pickups or drop-offs, especially when items can be placed directly into homes.

For larger furniture or full-home clean-outs, we typically schedule a paid removal based on volume, labor, and distance. This helps us sustainably continue the work of furnishing homes and supporting families in transition.

If you’re not sure where your items fall, feel free to send a few photos or a quick list—we’re always happy to help figure out the best option 🤎

can my business partner with found family vintage?

Yes—we love partnering with aligned businesses and organizations 🤎

We work with estate sale companies, realtors, organizers, schools, food banks, government programs, grassroots organizations, and many local businesses—including restaurants, movers, and more—to help responsibly clear out homes and place items directly into families or back into the community.

Partnerships can look like referrals, coordinated pickups, resource sharing, or ongoing collaboration depending on what makes the most sense.

If you’re interested in working together, feel free to reach out and share a bit about your work—we’d love to connect.
